You know him as the spin doctor, the dude who took a 90s track called 'Bin Tere Sanam' (from the movie Yaara Dildara) and spun it into a smash hit. The track not only made DJ Suketu a dance remix guru but also won him a 2004 MTV IMMIES Award for Best REMIX VIDEO SONG. You've heard it and you know that the song captures just that right amount of nostalgia with a heavy hook of what kicks ass at dance clubs.
This August DJ Suketu is making us dance like chickens with his new video 'Kya Khoob Lagti Ho' from his brand new album THE BED LOUNGE REMIXES.
What's interesting is DJ Suketu (who was bored of studying commerce) meant for 'Bin Tere Sanam' to be an easy listening melody - one for the car stereo and he never thought the song would go on to become the phenomenal hit it became. His next remix 'Pyar Zindagi Hai' came about coz he's a big Amitabh Bachchan fan. DJ Suketu is also scoring the background music for SATURDAY NIGHT, a film by Nishant Goyal.
Suketu also owns and manages a music bar called Seven,a club he says, "is named after the seven sins and seven virtues, and is on the seventh floor." Essentially a music bar, the place will promote house music, invite international DJs as well as provide a platform for talented DJs across the country. More power to him, we say.
Incidentally DJ Suketu took a month-long workshop at DJ Kingdom, London under the Guinness record holder DJ Trickster who is known for turn tabling on six turntables at a time. Check out all the new tricks he's learnt on his new album BED LOUNGE REMIXES. We're certain they're gonna get our butts onto the dance floor.
