Nizam Yar Khan aka Nizam, is a hip hop MC born in Houston, Texas and spent much of his life growing up in Toronto, Canada. With his upbringing in a diverse city like Toronto and frequent travels back to United States, and the UK (the birthplace of his mother) he was exposed to a unique mosaic of people and genres of music. He passionately engulfed his own sound into a raw, chilled and elemental form of hip hop often found missing in today's mainstream arena of music. His passion for music began at an early age, where he was exposed to genres ranging from soul, hip hop, jazz all the way to drum and bass, hindi, and bhangra. As an artist Nizam paints the pictures of expression, reflection and captures the magnitude of hip hop culture and the sentiment of the Asian and Hip Hop Diaspora from Toronto and his travels to London, India and all over the world. Some of his influences include Gangstarr, Rakim, The Wu Tang Clan, Bob Marley, Tupac Shakur and Michael Jackson to name a few. Some of his most favourite forms of hip hop that has influenced his life are the 90's East coast and west Coast sound that he was exposed to growing up . His works with his diverse production crew and other affiliates has allowed him to deliver that real and distinct hip hop sound. Aside from music he also aspires to get more involved in acting, as well as his keen interest in speaking and writing about issues and events that occur on a global scale. He is currently working on "Hip Hop Diaspora the Mixtape" and is set to bless the masses with passion and perspective music for 2008.
