











Anita, Anu and Mandeep are SERESE, the new UK girl band tipped to take the world by storm!
ROOTS
The girls hail from West London, and grew up within a one mile radius of each other. Being of Indian origin, but born and brought up in London in an area of lots of third generation Indians, meant that these three budding young singers were in a cultural hub, surrounded by their Indian roots-Indian music, food, clothes etc all a heartbeat away, while at the same time enjoying every other type of music that was available to them in vibrant London. Their story started when Anita and Anu (aged 14 and 15) met at an audition and formed a band. A year later Mandeep stepped into the fold (a friend since infant school) and so they became SERESE.
MAKING THINGS HAPPEN
After four years together, Serese are a force to be reckoned with. All lead singer/songwriters, they are the epitome of the self-made woman. In 2007 they digitally released SERESE THE EP, a four track taster of what they had to offer. It achieved some success critically and financially, but more importantly marked a turning point for the band. A new found independence and control over all band activities. In 2008 they shot a video in Italy to “It’s the way (Rishi Rich remix). They released it digitally and the video and track are currently in circulation on all major Asian television and radio stations. The same success is now being transferred on the mainstream side with support from MTV and choice FM. Just on the strength of the promotional single the offers have flooded in to tour India, Dubai, and the U.A.E. Currently recording their debut album and preparing to go on tour simultaneously, there is no stopping these girls. With Clothing and jewellery sponsorships the world really is their oyster.
WHAT MAKES SERESE DIFFERENT?
These are girls who sing and write their own music, they have performed in top music venues, tiny acoustic venues, pubs, clubs, and really learnt their craft the hard way. The collection sees a mix of street chic and divine femininity.”The name itself SERESE is part of the philosophy. Originally a colour spelt CERISE(Red/pink).After then finding out that Cerise was also a Marvel comics super heroine who can fly, is skilled in combat and takes no prisoners, the girls decided it was meant to be and with a change of spelling, the name was born.
THE FUTURE
2009 looks to be an exciting year with the release of the album, and the Serese brand going to global levels.
