LMFAO is an American electro hop duo that formed in Los Angeles, California
in 2006. Consisting of rappers, dancers and DJs Redfoo and SkyBlu, their
music incorporates a theme of partying and drinking while their style is
commonly referred to as “party rock.”
The group is under Motown record label and got their rise to fame in 2008
when they released *Party Rock EP* on the iTunes music store and in 2009
when they released their first album. The album charted at number 33 on the
Billboard 200 and number two on the U.S. Dance Chart.
LMFAO’s first single was “I’m In Miami Bitch” which was released in December
of 2008 and peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 37 in
Canada.
The group released their second album, *Sorry For Party Rocking*, in June of
2011. The first single taken from the album, “Party Rock Anthem,” is the
most successful of LMFAO’s career peaking at Number 1 in the United States,
Canada, the United Kingdom and over ten other countries.
LMFAO embarked on their first Asian tour in 2011 and performed in Singapore,
Manila, Phlippines, Taipei, and Taiwan among other places. The group
performed on the set of the Isle of MTV 2011 Malta Special in Floriana,
Malta in front of a 50,000-person crowd.
LMFAO continues to expand its fan base and gain recognition across the
world. The group’s intensely carefree attitude keeps listeners entertained
and engaged with their music and wanting more “party rock” to jam out to.
