50 Cent and Busta Rhymes Used To Market Liquor!

January 05 2009 17:10 PST

It's not just about rapping for 50 Cent. Well when was it ever for Mr. 'I Get Money'? 50 Cent has yet again decided to venture into a new business deal with old pal Busta Rhymes to market liquor for the Connecticut based Drinks America company.

Reports state that the deal which their management company Violator set up for them will have 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes assisting in advertising Drinks America's Leyrat Cognac and Sparkling Vodka brands.
This marks the second time Drinks America attempted to use rappers for marketing after entering into an equity partnership with Dr. Dre to develop premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in February 2008. The deal came from a partnership with Dr. Dre's label Interscope Records making it the first equity partnership between a record label and a beverage company. The deal spawned Aftermath Cognac by Dr. Dre and a currently un named sparkling vodka planned to be released around the time Dr. Dre's long awaited 'Detox' album finally hits stores.

Both 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes are releasing albums in 2009 so a similar strategy will most likely be used to market Drinks America's new beverages.

In the past Drinks America used other recording artists like Willie Nelson, Paul Newman and American business man Donald Trump to brand and market their products. The method must have been effective since they decided to continue moving in the same direction but in the different lane of Hip Hop.

Well they rap about it in their songs. You see it in their videos. But what do you think of using rappers to advertise liquor. Did Drinks America make the right choice to expand their company? Tell me if you think Busta Rhymes and 50 Cent are the right guys for the job.

Actually in all honest truth,Muslims do drink despite the fact its so called disallowed. All over the world,in each region there is an alcoholic beverage unique to the culture & people there.Sultans from ancient times have indulged in drink & merry making so it goes way back.Theological studies have shown various level of believe in religion. Be it strong or weak,so he maybe Muslim by birth or by choice but if his believes are more spiritual than hardcore faith, then his no hypocrite(after all most of these do's & dont's are manmade),his just as human as you and I.
