We caught up with the Young Archie Assignment to get an exclusive interview to see what they’re all about.  The Bhangra group that commenced in 2008 shared a few thoughts about their music and talked about their latest video for their song ‘Nachna.’ This is what the group, which comprises of Young Archie, Nia, Nock, and Maya, had to say.

How did you guys get together? 
Young Archie- “Everything happened very organically. It’s been very experimental in what we do and I thought it would be kind of cool to combine it together bringing these three artists together.”

How would you describe your style of music?
Young Archie- “A fusion of different sounds, all four [of us] can bring something different Bollywood, Desi and Rock and Soul beats…to the sound. Our formation is quite different as well…we got picked from different backgrounds from HipHop music to rock to diversify our sounds.”

Is there anyone in particular you guys would like to collaborate with?

Nia- “Jay Sean! I think he is amazing; that would be a dream come true.”

Aside from working hard on your music, it looks like you guys are invested in your image and style. What can be attributed to this?
 Nia - “Basically, it is the shared involvement with the look. We will research, we try and look at things that will suit… red, white and black— just something that we do that’s cool rather than the  traditional Bhangra colors.”

It seems like Young Archie Assignment is getting a lot of attention for ‘Nachna.’ How do you guys feel about the recent success?

Nock- “We want to thank all the people…‘Nachna’ had 5000 downloads! We want to thank everyone. Stay positive and work hard and check out the music video…We are very thankful.”
