Soni aka Tejpal Singh Pabla was born and raised in Hoshiarpur Punjab before moving to Cananda in the mid 90s. Taught under the guidance of Mahesh Malwani, Soni released his debut album ‘Heeray’ in 2002 and in late 2004 teamed up with Bhangra legend Sukshinder Shinda to create his second album ‘Gal Dil Di’. Pabla is most famously known for his infectious track ‘Boli Pani’ featuring Dj Sanj deemed one of the Bhangra anthems of Summer 2005.

In October of 2006 the promising singer’s life came to an end after he collapsed on stage while performing at a show in Brampton, Canada. The singer suffered a heart attack. Two years after his death the Bhangra fraternity has teamed up to release a tribute album in memory of the singer. The eleven track album Soni Pabla ‘Eternity’ features the talents of Joti Dhillon, Bhinda Aujla, Kami- K and Dj Vix to name a few and will be released on February 8th on Planet Recordz so be sure to check back Desi Hits! for more.
