November 26th, 2008 marks the date of one of the most horrendous days in Mumbai history as the city endured a terrorist attack that lasted three days and left close to two hundred dead and hundreds more wounded.  In the days that followed the city went into mourning and many of Bollywood's stars also spoke out on the terrible tragedy.  One of the most outspoken was top star Aamir Khan.  His crusade continues as Aamir and director Vidhu Vinod Chopra were the guests of honor at '26/11' Mumbai Memorial Cup (1st Men's State Level Basketball Tournament) organized by the Mumbai Police to gain financial support for the policemen who displayed commendable courage during the terror attacks.

During his speech Vinod stated, "When I was leaving home to come here, my seven year old daughter said - Please tell the policemen of Mumbai that I feel safe and secure in my home because of them. That thought echoes my sentiments and I am sure every Mumbai resident feels the same way."  He saluted the police force for their valiant and honorable work ensuring the safety of Mumbai.

Aamir and Vinod enjoyed the final basketball match between local police teams and also facilitated twenty uniformed men who demonstrated acts of bravery during the incident.

Aamir Khan stated, "It is the best opportunity to show my gratitude to all those brave men who stood their ground when the entire city was under siege. Words are falling short to describe these real heroes carrying the unprecedented wounds of that unfortunate event, Mumbai got its pulse back only because of them."

It's great to see people who haven't forgotten the brave acts of the police on the unfortunate three days that rocked the city and its people.
