Iconic rock band Aerosmith (yup, they're still alive and rockin'!!!) kicked axx in India's financial and film hub, Mumbai (a.k.a. Bollywood) this past weekend on June 2nd! This is Aerosmith’s first concert in India and they did NOT disappoint! The group is VERY popular among India’s urban middle-class who filled the arena as the stadium went absolutely nuts. This concert ten years after they composed ‘Taste of India’ a track from their 1997 album Nine Lives (reincarnation perhaps?) and they’ve never performed this song live…ever! The concert is part of the Aerosmith's world tour, which started April 12th in Brazil and included a show in Dubai…now their moving on to Europe in June and July. The band’s lead singer, Steven Tyler (they guy with the wildly long tongue) proudly revealed to Desi Hits! that his son’s got an Indian name…"We had never been to India but my son’s name is Taj. I just called him Taj because I love the name." The band’s lead guitarist, Joe Perry, told us "We love hot food. Our music company is called Vindaloo Music. We have been fascinated by the Indian culture and food and all of that." Dito for us Indians as we ALL are fascinated by them...we’ve loved and respected their music for decades! Even if you’re not a huge rock fan, everyone knows at least one Aerosmith song that they can’t get out of their mind...this five-member band, with at least 14 albums to its credit and an envious career spanning over four decades was welcomed with open arms. The air guitars were out and the pugs came untied…it was a mad mad time in Bombay!!!
