At this year's 35th annual American Music Awards on Sunday, Alicia Keys not only performed, but also donned an empire-waist, navy colored gown with diamond accents along the shoulder and underneath the chest. She matched the dress with a silver tikka, shiny purse, and jeweled bracelet and earrings. The outfit was definitely beautifully constructed and while it was a fusion of both American and Indian styles, as Key's outfit as a whole seemed to encompass a modern Desi chic look.
Alicia Keys (who was nominated for five awards), Queen Latifah, and Kathleen Battle were the closing performers at the American Music Awards, singing "Superwoman". Kanye West, Ne-Yo, and Natasha Bedingfield were some of the others who performed at the music awards, along with many others. In the end, Chris Brown took home not only the trophy for Male Soul/R&B, but also in the Male Pop/Rock Artist category as well as Artist of the Year.
