An Indian American Idol??

An Indian brother and sister have just been selected for the 6th American Idol competition in Hollywood!Born in Seattle, Washington 19 year old Shyamali Malakar and her 17 year old brother Sanjaya shined above a group of hopefuls with very positive response from the well known judges. The pair said it was their father, who is a classical Indian musician, that gave their thier unique voices. Paula Abdul said of Shyamali "You're better than you give yourself credit. You have energy about you, I think your voice is really pretty," after she sang the track 'Summertime'. Sanjaya sang Stevie Wonder's 'Sign, Sealed, Delivered' and got a "you're a lot better than your sister," reaction from tough judge Simon Cowell.
