With the Oscar's quickly approaching, expect to see a lot more of the stars of 'Slumdog Millionaire' as they promote the film! Anil Kapoor made a stop on the PR express train in New York City this morning. The actor was a guest on the American morning show 'Live with Regis and Kelly.' Anil Kapoor was there to promote the film 'Slumdog Millionaire' and to have a little fun with the show's host Regis Philbin. Regis Philbin was the original host of the American version of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' - the same style of show which is depicted in the film. Anil Kapoor was overly excited to be on the show. When he was introduced, he walked onto the stage waving his hands and then proceeded to grab Regis Philbin in a bear hug and lift him into the air. Everyone, including the audience, got a laugh out of that!

Anil Kapoor continued to dazzle the hosts with his charming and humorous personality. He revealed that he ignored the initial advances by director Danny Boyle to star in 'Slumdog Millionaire.' Anil Kapoor was unaware that Danny Boyle was a successful movie director. Lucky for all of us his son was familiar with the directorial work of Danny Boyle! Not until his son showed him the huge poster he had hanging on his wall of the film 'Trainspotting' - the 1996 hit directed by Danny Boyle - did Anil Kapoor decide to return the phone call.

After the entertaining interview, Anil Kapoor reprised his role as a game show host for a mock version of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.' This time instead of questioning love-struck Dev Patel, the co-host Regis Philbin was the in the hot seat. Anil Kapoor may have played a villainous host in 'Slumdog Millionaire' but this time he was just having fun. Anil Kapoor teased Regis Philbin with the famous 'Is that your final answer?' question. However, he didn't falter. The questions were catered to Regis Philbin. He was asked about his wedding anniversary and the record of his favorite college football team. Anil Kapoor seemed to have a great time, as did the audience and hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa.
