Anoop Desai is going to get one last chance to prove to America that he belongs in the final 12 on American Idol.  That's because he was selected last night to perform tonight in front of America in the wild card round.  I had written a couple of weeks back about how Anoop got robbed and should have already been waiting for the Finals to start.  Well, I had that feeling in the back of my mind again as the first seven names were called for the wild card round.  I thought he was going to get hosed yet again, especially since they had the nerve to pick Tatianna Del Toro among others for the sing off.  At least the road to one of the last three spots won't look too hard to get.

 But guess who chose Anoop Desai to live to perform another day?  Oddly enough, it was Simon Cowell who picked Anoop.  Yes, the same Simon Cowell who made fun of his appearance during the first auditions and said he looked like he was leaving a meeting with Bill Gates.  Simon had glowing reviews of him.  He called him 'original and unique.'  Anoop's got Simon Cowell in his back pocket.  That's half the battle won right there.  He should definitely be considered a favorite to nab one of the last three seats, but as we've seen, we never know what America is thinking, so do your part to keep Anoop Dog on the show.

If Anoop Desai does happen to crack the final 12, it is not going to be an easy road to victory.  The frontrunners have to be Danny Gokey and Lil Rounds at the moment.  It's still anyone's game and things can change from week to week, but Anoop is going to have to sing his heart out tonight just to qualify.  If you call the show, make sure you get Anoop Dog into the Finals and show your support.  American Idol needs to be Desified anyway!
