Another athlete...another rap album.......

March 28 2007 19:00 PST

Following in the oversize footsteps of fellow b-ballers Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest, the softspoken San Antonio Spurs point guard, Tony Parker has released a rap CD. The first song is Balance-toi ('Move Yourself') and it's not in English but in French....yup, French! It’s only available in Parker's native France where he was born. He’s the fiancé of the fine Latina Eva Longoria from ‘Desperate Housewives,’ and of late you can refer to him as "Tony Pizzle" and "The Machine." We know he’s at the top of his game with his basketball career AND his love life but is his album likely to go wood than platinum? I mean c’mon how many professional athletes have tried their luck at music and actually made a name for themselves...my thoughts exactly! On Tony’s debut release, he glorifies his lavish lifestyle in French and the first singles’ lyrics include: “What, you want to dance? No, it’s not worth it. Me, I’ll stay on the sofa enjoying the vibe by raising my arms.” On the album, the hoops star spits rhymes about Longoria and even duets with Jamie Foxx and New York rapper Fabolous. Time and record sales will tell if Tony is fly enough to carry off a career in sports AND music.
