Drawn to poetry at the age of nine Bohemia A.K.A Roger David began his journey as an artist. Bohemia immersed himself into the Hip-Hop culture when he moved to Los Angeles from Pakistan.  This was the beginning of the rising star whose talent resonates all the way from LA to India. Find out about his journey and his recent collaboration with the highest paid actor in Bollywood, Akshay Kumar on the soundtrack for the film, 'Chandni Chowk To China.'

DH!: You have had an interesting life, from living in Pakistan to moving to the rough streets of LA tell me about it?

Bohemia: My dad had come to the states to work . When we came to the states, poverty was like a disease for us that we had to get rid of. It was rough moving to a different country, all of a sudden I was in San Francisco and I barely spoke English. I got around the wrong people who gave me attention. I lost my mom at the age of 15 as she developed cancer. It was a bad time for me. Some local Mexican guys helped me out with doing bad things. Things got better for me when my dad got me a keyboard and I started playing . I came around some local musicians. I wanted  to make my own music and I got to a point where I could remake any beat I heard on the TV. I began to perform a lot and often I would sleep over at these musicians' houses to practice and perform since my family moved out of the city .

DH!: So when did Roger David become Bohemia?

Bohemia: Roger became Bohemia when my music got out. When I performed my music and spoke my rhymes and personal stuff that's when I proved I am Bohemia.  That's when people who knew Roger saw a bipolar person. It's like superman. When he  flew ,he really did.

DH!: You are called the Punjabi rapper, what  influenced you to rap in Punjabi?

Bohemia: I have been writing poetry since I was a kid. When I  came to the states I got introduced to rap and I thought it would be cool to put  elements of desi  in it.

DH!:  How did you meet Akshay Kumar and what was it like to collaborate with him on the title track for Chandni Chowk to China title song?

Bohemia: I just got an email from a girl named Pooja Batra who said Akshay Kumar wanted to work with me. I thought it was a joke but Akshay Kumar called me in September and told me that he wanted to meet me and that he really liked my music. He named a few of his favorite tracks and invited me to Chicago for the shoot of  'Singh Is Kinng'.  I went there and he took care of me. We met and we spoke about 'Chandni Chowk To China' and he asked me to work on the title song on the soundtrack with him.

DH!: Did you get some time to hang out with Akshay Kumar?

Bohemia: We hung out and I got to meet his wife and she is really great to!

DH!: So what are you working on now?

Bohemia: I am working in the studio right now. I am coming out with a hot track soon for Universal. There was a bit of a delay but as you guys know Akshay Kumar has kept me busy!

DH! :  What have been your major regrets in your career thus far? 

Bohemia: No regrets I love life, I think God is great, I make music ,produce ,perform ,and hang out with great people.
