Busta Causes DJ's Job to be Suspended

December 04 2008 19:55 PST

Busta Rhymes' new song 'Arab Money' is causing quite the controversy in the UK. Steve 'Smooth' Sutherland of Galaxy Radio broadcasted the song on his show Saturday night. Sutherland has won a number of awards as a veteran and popular DJ. The DJ and a producer of Sutherland's show were suspended as complaints came in about the song. The version featuring Ron Browz includes non-descript, gibberish slightly resembling Arabic. The original version has also offended Muslims, as it includes Qur'anic scripture, something restricted under Islamic law. Despite controversy, others believe this may be the comeback for Busta Rhymes' career. Check out the video below and tell us your thoughts on the song.

busta is muslim ...so why would he do something offensive?? he isn't disrespecting muslims...he's just being creative...maybe it is abit ofensive but still u should be proud that he's calling arabs rich and doing something postive about your religion...islam has always has bad publicity etc etc...atleast he's not discriminating agianst muslims calling them terrorists ..killers etc..u should be proud he's doing something postive ..but still u get offended...what's wrong with u ppl?

Busta Rhymes' new song 'Arab Money' is causing quite the controversy in the UK? WHY?!? I am a Muslim myself (and a proud one at that), I also had one my Arab friends who is a practicing Muslim and has studied the Qur'aan and reads it often... and even he says that this track has nothing that includes Qur'aanic scripture. The only thing he mentioned was that, whats close to arabic is the last 2 words in the line "Ha La Shiki Hai Lili Ba Laa!". Now "Ba laa" means in English "what goes around, comes around" i.e. Karma. Heres the lyrics so you guys & gals can read over and over until you can tell me/us what is insulting to Islam. Also, tell me this, why the hell would somebody who's converted to Islam "Sell out" Islam? dont believe me? check it out. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=4yElMAT-FjE Heres the lyrics: [Intro: Busta Rhymes] Ron Browz, yes! Oh, we back in the most amazin' way Well, lemme introduce you to the new talk Let's get straight to it C'mon! [Chorus: Ron Browz] Shalai Lai Lai Halilili Hai Lo! Hi Li Ba Lai Hey Hi Li Bai Lo! We gettin' Arab money! We gettin' Arab money! Ha La Shiki Hai Lili Ba La! Milli Ai Lai Shi Lili Ba La! We gettin' Arab money! We gettin' Arab money! [Verse 1: Busta Rhymes] Now, there ain't no way that you could kill the beast dead I got Middle East women and Middle East bread I got oil well money in the desert playing golf Dolce shorts, dashiki with a Louie Scarf Chest cold, diamonds make a nigga wanna cough In Dubai, 20 million on the villa loft And then I step up in the club and then these other niggas mad as shit The way I make the people wanna sing the hook in Arabic! [Chorus: Ron Browz] Shalai Lai Lai Halilili Hai Lo! Hi Li Ba Lai Hey Hi Li Bai Lo! We gettin' Arab money! We gettin' Arab money! Ha La Shiki Hai Lili Ba La! Milli Ai Lai Shi Lili Ba La! We gettin' Arab money! We gettin' Arab money! [Verse 2: Busta Rhymes] Seven star hotels, Maybach, movie sick Big bitches, knock-kneed camel-toed groupie shit Women walk around while security on camelback Club on fire now, niggas don't know how to act Sittin' in casinos while I'm gamblin' with Arafat Money long, watch me purchase pieces of the Almanac Y'all already know, I got the streets buzzin' While I make you bow down and make Salaat like a Muslim [Chorus: Ron Browz] Shalai Lai Lai Halilili Hai Lo! Hi Li Ba Lai Hey Hi Li Bai Lo! We gettin' Arab money! We gettin' Arab money! Ha La Shiki Hai Lili Ba La! Milli Ai Lai Shi Lili Ba La! We gettin' Arab money! We gettin' Arab money! [Verse 3: Busta Rhymes] See, now I take trips to Baghdad dummy While I use stacked chips and count Arab money now I don't need to get fresh, about to grow a beard duke So much cake even the money look weird too Domestic bread, and I'm broad, I'm tryna eat right Prince Alwali, Bin Talal, Al Saul They respect the value of my worth in Maui, Malaysia Iran and Iraq, Saudi Arabia! [Chorus: Ron Browz] Shalai Lai Lai Halilili Hai Lo! Hi Li Ba Lai Hey Hi Li Bai Lo! We gettin' Arab money! We gettin' Arab money! Ha La Shiki Hai Lili Ba La! Milli Ai Lai Shi Lili Ba La! We gettin' Arab money! We gettin' Arab money!

Bob, no, they are the words of God, written by man, end of in my opinion, and of course we're all entitled to our own opinion so you can think what you want and ill think what i think. and i do have my own belief, and it just so happens that millions of other people around also have the same one, im not just doing it to follow a trend. and at the end of the day, busta shouldnt have mocked the words of the Qur'an as thats what millions of people world wide believe in (people arnt annoyed that he spoke in arabic, its just the the arabic words he chose were in the Qur'an). and i would say the same thing if he mocked any other religion, or in fact if he mocked anyones belief in general, even if it wasnt to do with religion. long story short is you dont mock peoples belief, whether it be about relgion, the economy, the environemt, you don't have 2 agree with them, you can try and prove theyre rong, bt u just dont mock them. also, desihits, u sold out by posting the vid on ur site! you even said in your article that people found it offencive, so what was your aim in putting up, so more people could be offended? i understand that people would wanna hear what all the fuss was about and hear the song, but they can sort that out themselves, they dont need your help. im deeply disappointed. you are just adding to the annimosity and at this time, with all the goings on the world, it is totally unnecassary!

why is it when ever something to do with muslims is mocked in some sort of way in regards to music, ppl go in uproar and things get sorted. yet if its to do with Sikhs, hindus, cathlics..or whatever..nothing gets done about it??? we just have to sit and take it? how i see it if u dont like it, dont listen to it simple as that.

For once Bob is making sense. Its time people realized there are no prophets or messiahs, only men with delusions of grandeur. If you want respect earn it. If a religion wants respect it has to earn it just like everybody else...and respect is not defined by the body count and how big of an explosion you caused, retards. Regarding the track its alright, nothing special.

Ok, so are you all telling me that you don’t find this song catchy in any way? Listen to the song carefully tell me what part of the song is offensive (well besides the hook, unless that really is something in Arabic) He raps about how the Arabs are rich. So if someone says you got Arab money, it means you got shit load of and you’re rich. What wrong with what? Unless you hate being called rich. I don’t think he said anything that was offensive to any religion at all, also Arabic is a language; the songs not called Muslim money. I think some people are looking too much into this, or is their some part of the song I’m missing that is bluntly offensive and I just don’t see it? If so please let me know What I find offensive are the comments, why would some want the Taliban in power? We are trying get rid of terrorism not encourage it.

December 04, 2008 13:51 PST

God himself didnt physically write it obviously, but the words are of God, and that goes for all religious books. and maybe someone always takes offence because someone else is ALWAYS offencive! and thank god the taliban arent in charge in general, not only coz busta would be dead!
