Canada versus United Kingdom: Who's got the talent?

There is no doubt that Britain's got talent. Artists such as Jay Sean and H-Dhami represent the up and coming urban Desi scene, more importantly the UK Desi urban scene. But the UK is not the only country that has been bringing out some of the hottest Urban Desi talent . The Bilz and Kashif and Baba Khan along with many others have stepped onto the scene from Canada. Does the UK have competition?

We have had many debates comparing boy bands and pop artists, but let's look at the bigger picture. What does Canada offer? Let's start with Raghav. This pop sensation has released a hit album and is currently working on his next one. His two singles, "My Kinda Girl" and "Humrahee" have been huge hits and are definitely causing hype for his next album. In England we have Jay Sean. The R&B sensation has become a household name; his tracks list includes "Stolen," "Maybe," and "Tonight". He not only releases his albums in the UK, but has also released one in India and is currently working on one for the US.

When we look at bands we can take a look at Canada's En Karma. This band is new on the scene, they are doing new and exciting things and causing quite a buzz with their Bhangra music. In the UK we have seen the success of the band Swami. Swami's latest album "Equalize" brought a fresh face to the urban Desi scene with unique tracks and sick videos.

Canada also offers the talent of Ishq Bector, Blitzkrieg, The Bilz and Kashif, and Baba Khan. All these artists have brought us amazing music that tops the charts time and time again. There is no saying what they will come up with next, but it is sure to be something different.

The UK is not at all behind in the Desi music scene. With artists such as Dr. Zeus, D-Boy, The Kray Twinz, and Hard Kaur shaking up the industry and trying new things we can't help but to pay attention. It is quite clear that the UK is a leading contributor to the urban Desi music scene and artists from all over the world, including Canada, want in. From promoting in the UK to collaborations with their artists, the UK is the place to be. Does Canada have enough talent to become the world's leading contributor to the urban Desi music scene, or is the UK just too good? Let us know what you think.

The Canadian artists have won the hearts of Canadians and that's big. For the Brits, they've gone international. In other words they have an international fan base. But watch out cause the Canadians are gonna drop it big soon :)

It really doesn't matter if the talent is from UK, Canada, or America...Although UK does have more talent...as UK was the first other than India to be introduced to the bhangra scene (Alaap, Heera, Apna Sangeet...) Bottom Line is that it doesn't matter where the talent is from, but if theres gonna be something put out there, it should be good and should be respected...However, friendly competition isnt bad cuz it creates a challenge and promotes creativity.

UK ALL DAY!! but respect to canada as well init

I think UK too right now, but agree that the scene shd be global, not one country versus another. reason why UK is tops is there is so much pressure on Desi life in UK. Canada is laid back. Pressure = creativity. UK has a serious edge. I love the artists from both countries. w/o UK tho, there might not be a serious NRI Desi music scene.

i think its fine that there is a desi music scene in several countries.one should not compare who is better and who isnt.just support them.

Thinking about it how can you compare jay sean and raghav? One is amazing, the other is below average at best. tell it how it is!
