Celina Jaitley Is Tamil Savvy

October 21 2008 20:20 PST

We already know that sexy Celina Jaitley plays a South-Indian character named Meera Nair in Rohit Shetty's upcoming comedy, 'Golmaal Returns'. We didn't know that she'll be speaking Tamil dialogue for the role as well! How authentic, Celina! Initially, there was no Tamil dialogue slated to be in the film, but the 'Golmaal Returns' team decided to add some South-Indian flare to Celina's character. Though the role seems to de-glamify sexpot Celina, maybe now she can be known more for her 'acting' skills.

Celina-ji? Or aunty-ji?

That's not what the article says. It says that this role is taking away from her usual sexual image. She's playing more of a (stereotypical) traditional Indian female role in this film. Yes, saris are sexy. No where does it say that being a South Indian or wearing a saris is 'unsexy' or 'de-glamified'. I agree with Pujja. Get a clue.

Yeah i agree it is nonsense. Nonsense that playing a south Indian role takes away from her sexiness. A saree is the sexiest form of clothing in my opinion and even as an auntyji of whateva they call it she still looks mighty fine, that was the point I was tryna make regarding the use of 'de-glam-fy'. Pujja if anything I'm one of the few people that has been trying to bridge the divide sadly ignorance out numbers me.

guys, get a clue. Celina always is known as playing the "sexy" roles and for once is playing a role not focused on her sex appeal and focuses more on her acting. i dont think this at all implies that south indian roles "de-glamify" a person. calm down! stop this north vs south nonsense!

wow what a retarded statement. how does playing a south indian 'de-glamify' a person?

I did not know playing a South Indian character de-glam-fies a person. What is this article tryna say? Its about time movies and the media in general try to bridge the divide between the North & the South of India caused by years of ignorant ways of thinking to create a unified race for all be it Indian nationals or the Indian diaspora.Hats off to the director though I hope its not a character that pokes fun at South Indians.
