His little brother Mika Singh has been stealing all the attention lately throwing tantrums and hanging out with raunchy chicks, but now Daler Mehndi is back in the spotlight! The Bhangra star, who is well known across the world for his singing and music has within the last few days joined forces with Mission Shanti.  Mission Shanti is an orphanage started by Rajendran; a driver in the Indian Navy in 2001.   One thing that led to the creation of the orphanage was Rajendran’s childhood because he lost his parents at the age of three.  Because of these events he uses the Shanti orphanage to help inspire the entire country and to make a difference.

Daler Mehndi’s gift and talent in music has given the celebrity the wonderful opportunity to be able to record albums as well as sing songs for various movies and to tour everywhere including the U.S. Daler Mehndi who is also known for his charitable giving and philanthropy has recently dedicated his patriotic and motivationally moving song ‘Jaago India’ to the country and to Mission Shanti. A video of the singer performing and recording the new song can already be found on Youtube.com. Mission Shanti has made a pledge to lend their support and help the victims of the terrorist attacks.  This support is also extended to those in any other city affected by terrorist activity.  With this support they will provide the survivors with anything that they may be in need of in this difficult time of restoration.

The surprising events which took place in Mumbai late last month have caused fellow citizens, celebrities, and philanthropists alike to come together to rebuild their communities and to most importantly reunite the entire nation. Mission Shanti hosted an event at the Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri, Mumbai to give people the opportunity to come together as one, to hear Daler Mehndi perform the very special song, and light a candle in memoriam to those who passed away or were affected by the tragic events.  Daler Mehndi’s song which is somewhat light and upbeat will fill people with a sense of energy and renewal to wake up and do whatever is necessary to rebuild and help others because even if only one is affected, then all are affected.
