Oh, what a night! The India premiere of the film, 'Slumdog Millionaire' turned into a star-studded affair. We all know that "Slumdog Millionaire" has been on the hot list for quite some time in the U.S., with its Golden Globe wins and ten Oscar nominations. Last night, however, was the premiere in India for the movie and it was a red carpet film event that all of Bollywood came out to support.

Not only did the entire cast make it to the premiere, minus A.R. Rahman who was working on another project, but there was also a long list of celebrities that attended. Those celebrities included, on again off again couple Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, and filmmaker Yash Chopra, amongst many others. Mostly everyone was dressed casually; some exceptions included Preity Zinta who wore a nice dress. Preity was escorted by her boyfriend, Ness Wadia. The audience seemed to love the film as much as Americans who have already embraced the movie.

'Slumdog Millionaire' had the same draw for last night's crowd as it has been having in the past. It was great to see that everyone wanted to show their support for the movie which is a triumph not only for Danny Boyle, but also for India and its film industry. Yash Chopra remarked, 'I thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie...It is truly a great achievement for India.' After the premiere, there was even a hip party at J.W. Marriott where people were dancing, eating and drinking, and just celebrating the great success.
