Disney and Bollywood...marriage arranged!

Kareena Kapoor can finally lay on the laddoos, as her next movie won’t involve midriff-baring saris and short skirts. Kapoor and Saif Alikhan are giving Cinderella and Ariel the boot, starring in Disney’s new Hindi animated film 'Roadside Romeo,' for which Disney and Yash Raj films teamed up. The two companies have combined their countries’ most lucrative entertainment empires – Disney to crack the Indian market, and Yash Raj to appeal to its younger audience. The movie is about a spoiled dog abandoned on the streets of Mumbai, and will feature the sultry voice of Kareena and the jovial Saif. According to Disney Studios chairman Dick Cook, it will be all in Hindi, but still “culturally relevant for the whole world.” In true Bollywood style, it will also include flamboyant song-dance sequences. How Hindi film dance will be adapted for canines is undetermined.
