Acclaimed director Danny Boyle's latest film, Slumdog Millionaire has hit the ground running since it opened in select cities on Nov. 12th. Not unlike the West's response to Mira Nair's The Namesake this film has generated a ton of buzz, and we at Desi Hits! are stoked.  As Bollywood films continue to make waves in the mainstream, we are witnessing the magic of India becoming a trendsetter for the western world! While celebrities like Jude Law, Naomi Campbell and Paris Hilton all prepare for trips to India this year, artists like the Pussycat Dolls and Beyonce are taking notes from Bollywood girls on how to be hot, sporting saris during their concerts and in their music videos!

When Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls chatted with us at Desi Hits! in September, she shared with us some of her thoughts on India:
'I'm so intrigued by all of the colors, and the characters and the life and the energy, and the dancing...it's just genius.'

As Desi fashions and films take hold of popular culture, and cities across the country have styles on display, people are beginning to take an interest in the all things India. There's just something about the East that the West can't get enough of! While we at Desi Hits! have always known how fabulous we Desis are, it's nice to see that the rest of the world is finally catching on!
