It's a Saturday night and the youth of India pack into a large stadium to listen to music created
by the innovators in the field of electronica in India. The Midival Punditz has taken the Indian
music industry by storm introducing a unique electrifying sound to the country.
Having a fearless attitude towards experimentation the group decided to captivate India with a
new genre in 1997. Growing tired of the remix and Bollywood scene that runs rampant in India
the group thought that it was the right time to start producing their own music. In 2000 they
got signed by Six Degrees Records, becoming the first electronic music duo from India to sign
an international album contract. The group has become sought after in the world of producing
and remixing in Bollywood, in 2008 they remixed the 2008 blockbuster Don & Chake De.
Well the small beginnings have led to this moment in time where they are getting ready to
release their third studio album 'Hello Hello.' The New Delhi based team consisting of Gaurav
Raina and Tapan Raj have collaborated with their Six Degrees Records friend Karsh Kale. The
album released this month. Albums on the track include "Naina Laagey" with a thick and
luxuriously slow rhythm with a heavy influence from Indian classical love songs. Showing off
their full spectrum of musical talent, the album also includes Led Zeppelins' "Four Sticks" with a
unique South Asian style.
To kick off the promotion of the album, Midival Punditz has started touring. Their music has
spread beyond India and is now appreciated around the globe. So the group has concerts from
India all the the way to the United States.
The tour will run from April 7th to about April 18th. The must stops for any U.S. tour has to
include big cities like Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. That's why it's no surprise that the
boys will be playing at the famous SOB's in NYC on April 9th and on April 11th at Martyr's in
Chicago.
