Interview by: Vin Funaro
DH!: So I heard you've just joined the lineup for Lil Wayne's 'I Am Music Tour'. Tell me about that.
Gorilla Zoe: Yeah well you know I've been dropping a lot of mixtape's and just going hard! It's real crazy! Lil Wayne is my dude and the 'Lost' record is blowing up! He's got a lot of collaborations and it's going to be huge!
DH!: So tell me about your new song 'Lost'. What are some of the inspirations behind that song? It sounds really different from things you've done in the past.
Gorilla Zoe: 'Lost' man, it's just a record from the soul. I'm tired of always doing the same thing. Other artists are always doing the same thing. I just wanted to come from the soul you know!
DH!: Are you still working with Boyz N The Hood?
Gorilla Zoe: Boyz N The Hood is family you know. It's not just about music with them, we're more like family.
DH!: Are you going to be doing another album with them?
Gorilla Zoe: Yeah, we should be doing one real soon.
DH!: What producers have you worked with for 'Don't Feed The Animals'?
Gorilla Zoe: You know, I've been working with everybody who's anybody. I do most of my work with Drumma Boy. I also do some producing. I've been producing for awhile.
DH!: Here at DesiHits we specialize in collaborations with South Asian artists and U.S. and U.K. artists. Do you know anything about South Asian music or Bollywood which is India's Hollywood?
Gorilla Zoe: No not really. But I would love to go over there though!
DH!: Would you be interested in collaborating with any south Asian artists? For example Snoop Dogg did a song with the Bhangra group RDB for a Bollywood film. Would that be something you might want to get into?
Gorilla Zoe: Yeah definitely. I am definitely looking forward to doing something like that!
So be on the lookout for his new album 'Don't Feed The Animals'. Check out the video for 'Lost' and tell us what you think of Gorilla Zoe.
