It's time for the Friday feeling with Filmi Fridays and this week we have 'Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay.'  The movie releases today, but the Corner Boys – Gatzby and Kunal M caught the flick at an exclusive pre-screening and sat down with the stars themselves – Kal Penn and Neil Patrick Harris.  Check out the exclusive interviews with the stars in the video interview and the Corner 7 radio show.

EDITORIAL REVIEW

After Harold and Kumar underwent an epic journey to White Castle and the film became a “cult classic” expectations were high for the sequel, but as the saying goes the sequels rarely match up to the original.  If you thought the first flick was raunchy, this cranked the raunch-factor to another level… but then again what would you expect?

PLOT: The movie picks up where the last one left off as Harold and Kumar head to the airport to catch a plane to Amsterdam but get side tracked as Kumar is mistaken for a terrorist and the two are side-lined to Guantanamo Bay.  But they aren’t even in Guantanamo Bay for more then 10 minutes.  Then you have Neil Patrick Harris who returns with another surprise cameo but you can't really call it a surprise since it's so predictable as were the ridiculous situations the duo got into.  While there are funny situations they rely on the crudeness to get the laughs… how else would you explain a bottomless party in Miami?  The play on racial stereotypes throughout the movie is the best part of the otherwise mindless comedy. 

THE VERDICT:  Bottom line is, while there are funny parts in the movie a lot of it was expected, so if they do choose to make a third movie they should think about a totally different spin. So if you’re looking for 102 minutes to kill on crude humor and mindless comedy then it might be worth your dollars, but in all honesty it’s probably better to catch it when it hits video stores.
