Recent stars include Nelly Futardo who danced up a storm over the new year, followed by Akon, who’s daring publicity stunt made headline news all over India after he jumped into a crowd at a concert. More recently, Shakira was in India shaking her booty for eager crowds who couldn’t get enough of her. Rumor has it that Timbaland is planning a trip too; he has long had a fascination with South Asian music having worked with artists such as Amar and Rajeshwari. You may be asking yourself why all the interest in India now? Many talk of their love for the “Oh so spiritual India” although that may be true for some we’re sure that all those dollar signs have a way of influencing someone’s drive to seek out an enlightened Guru!! India is a hotbed of young hungry consumers and with a fast growing, cash rich, middle class it’s lucrative territory. India is the world’s 4th largest consumer market that is hungry for all things western Young consumers in India love the western hip hop vibe and over the past few years we have seen more and more of this influence B-Town (Bollywood).
