It was an all-out paparazzi pandemonium last month during Liz and Arun’s 6-day wedding blowout. It started in England and ended in India…celebrities, lavish parties, designer dresses, fireworks, etc! Now, just like a true Bollywood film, the newlyweds are caught up in a feud with none other than the in-laws! Liz’s father-in-law is publicly disowning the couple…hmmm, I know what you’re thinking…does this mean Arun is out of the will? Vinod Nayar and his wife Joanne said that the model treated them like 'social outcasts' at the wedding ceremony and barred Vinod from the wedding platform during the Hindu fire ceremony in which the head of the family is supposed to officially welcome the bride into the family. Perhaps Liz was soooo caught up in the preparations leading up to these events, she didn’t quite make it to Indian Weddings 101…this isn’t such a good start Liz! The older Nayar also divulged that Hurley insulted him by not wearing a 35,000-pound ruby and diamond necklace, which he and his wife had given her to wear at the wedding. Yup, she definitely, skipped class…this is one of the biggest perks of marrying into an Indian family! After the conduct shown by Liz and Arun, the older Nayars cancelled the 30,000-pound post wedding party, which they had arranged for the newlyweds. "I think this elaborate Indian event was Elizabeth's theatrical dream. It was certainly not a serious attempt to honor our customs. In the end it was just nonsense. The magazine wanted a great show, so they could justify the big fee they were charged. I think it was blatant and cynical commercialism," Vinod said. "I once thought Liz was a lovely, unspoiled woman, but now I see that she is a very hard person. It was important for her to get celebrity faces there. That's what the Hello! (British magazine for those who don’t know) deal was about. She was fulfilling her contractual obligation," he added. He doesn’t hold back as he goes on to say "I have decided to cut all ties with my son...I feel that Liz and Arun behaved shamefully and placed more importance on showing off than their own family! Liz is obviously furious, sources say she has declared that she wants no more ties with Vinod and his wife, has offered to pay back 30,000 pounds/$60,000 dollars/a whole lotta rupees, to the family as a reimbursement for the cancelled post-wedding party and any other expenses they incurred. As far as she is concerned, that is it - she never wants to see Arun's father or step-mother again! “Liz made all the efforts to fit in the Nayar clan, and therefore is not able to understand Vinod's accusations and grievances. She doesn't think that they have taken into consideration how much planning went into the wedding celebrations - she was under a lot of pressure and was very, very stressed, and perhaps they misinterpreted this for rudeness," the source added. Amazing! We at Desi Hits! couldn’t have written a better ending to a Bollywood plot…oh wait, isn’t this how ALL Bollywood films end?!!! Let’s hope our girl Ash, doesn’t follow in Liz’s footsteps!!!
