Punjabi artist Imran Khan is creating quite a buzz right now! His single "Amplifier" from his debut album "Unforgettable" hit the top of The BBC Asian Network Charts straight away and has managed to hang onto #1 for 20 weeks, beating international sexy songstress Kylie Minogue!

Kylie has been trying to break into the Desi scene for a while now. Recently she worked with A.R. Rahman on the soundtrack for "Blue". But it looks like she can’t beat Imran Khan to the top of the charts!

Born and raised in The Hague, Holland, Imran Khan has always been a fan of Punjabi music. He grew up listening to Punjabi music but also loved R&B, Reggae, Garage and Pop. And all these music genres helped him to create his own unique vibe and style of Bhangra music.

So how does it feel to beat a global artist like Kylie Minogue? DesiHits.com talked to Imran who had this to say:

"I took a break from promotion during Ramadan and this has been the first week that I've been back on the promo. It's a humbling experience that fans are still voting for me and the single after 5 weeks. All I can do is sending out a big thank you for the support to all the people that are requesting the album, shows etc. It's seems mad to say that I beat Kylie Minogue to the number 1 spot, but cool at the same time."
