Finally a Desi is getting his own sitcom! Canadian Comedian Russell Peters has signed a deal to star in his own show! The comedy series will be based on his family and how he’s become an underground comedy star.

For those doubting how huge he is well... let’s put it this way... which Desi comedian you know has ever headlined and sold out at The Apollo Theater in New York City? As if that’s not enough he was also the first comic to sell-out the Air Canada in Toronto, performing for over 30,000 people in over two nights... Exactly!

Russell says that fans can look forward to something funny and honest. A sitcom based on Rusell Peters’ family… sounds interesting... what’s this going to be your Desi-Wayans brothers? Maybe a desi spin-off of 'Family Matters' perhaps? We’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!
