Jay Sean Signs Deal with Lil Wayne's Cash Money Records!

Look who’s won more bragging rights! R&B heartthrob, Jay Sean, didn’t pick up any awards at the MOBOs tonight, but he’s won something much bigger! He announced during the award ceremony that he had just signed a deal with Lil Wayne's Cash Money Records. I guess this more than makes up for losing out to Dizzie Rascal for best UK male singer!
Desi Hits’! very own presenter, Ashanti Omkar, was at the award show and got us the full scoop! Jay Sean made the exciting announcement during a backstage skit after his performance to ‘Ride It’ and ‘Tonight’. The MOBO crowd went absolutely wild! Jay seemed smooth, calm and collected, but his excitement was very apparent.
It seems like Jay's been chillin’ with Lil Wayne for quite some time now. The R&B sensation mentioned that he had just seen the rapper last week, while picking up Lil Wayne’s MOBO award. Many of the winners such as Lil Wayne, Chris Brown and Leona Lewis were missing from the award ceremony, but Jay definitely more than made up for it with his big news!
Jay Sean is the first South Asian artist to get signed on to Cash Money Records, which is a subsidiary of Universal Music. The CEO of the record label, Monte Lipman, recently announced that he wanted the label to veer away from just hiphop and get involved in all different genres of music including soul, rock and pop.

I believe that Jay Sean will do well with Cash Money. The one thing that Lil Wayne doesn't get any credit for is his ability to collaborate extremely well with artists. He allows the artist to take the spotlight and is willing to take the backseat. Lil Wayne also gives Jay Sean instant credibility in the U.S. so that is also a plus. All the best Jay

Jay's aight,not a huge fan of his songs BUT the man is a very very talented singer/songwriter.I just hope his time at Cash Money would not see him churn out garbage like 'Lollipop' though I highly doubt Wayne & Baby gon let real talent go unbastardized.

its a good look and big ups...but lets just hope he doesnt get punked like everyone else who signed with cash money...currensy didnt get put out...DPG were signed no one knew about that though...jadakiss was suppose to sign but didnt happen...juvenile, BG, Manny Fresh all left due to disputes...but hey who knows
