If there is one bhangra artist out in the game today that could be called a rock star, it is undoubtedly Juggy D. With the ability to record a hard a core party track like "Billo," to the deep and meaningful "Akheer," he has proved why he is one of the biggest names in bhangra today. Juggy is currently on a six-date tour across the US, but was gracious enough to give Desi Hits! readers some exclusive news on his new album and details on his tour.

Juggy says the tour has been going extremely well. Saying in particular, "Detroit was really responsive; I was overwhelmed by the love." He's been giving lucky audiences a taste of his new material, by performing acapella versions of some of the tracks off the new album.

Speaking of the new album, Juggy revealed to Desi Hits! some EXCLUSIVE info on the highly anticipated release. "Akhaan Sharabi," or drunken eyes, is the first single off his long awaited sophomore album, "Juggy D 2: Punjabi Rockstar," and will be released on the 2 Point 9 label. The video for the single will be shot in three to four weeks, once Juggy gets back to London.

There are plans in the pipeline for a double CD, with one disc a hard core Desi album and the other a stripped down urban version. Although nothing is set for sure, he does say that he wants to give people more than what they expect. Juggy describes this album as "This is me over the last three years, how I've developed as an artist; my own personal experiences." Although there is no planned release date, he is hoping for October.

The album features some of the hottest producers in the industry, including Mentor, the Hunterz and Dr. Zeus. However, what everyone is dying to know is, if Rishi Rich will be on the album now that he's left 2 Point 9. Not to worry, we haven't heard the last from the duo, as Rishi is producing some of the tracks on the album. In fact Juggy said, "I share the same relationship with Rishi as I did before. We're more like brothers; Rishi leaving 2 Point 9 didn't affect our relationship."

Juggy was able to take full creative control of this album unlike the first, which he says, his label dictated a little more than he would've liked. For that reason he was able to record what he wanted, which is four hard-core Punjabi songs, complete with dholi's and tumbi's, tracks with a more urban feel, as well as some romantic songs. Juggy knows his market well; as the tracks really reflect the musical tastes of young Desi's today. "I've got a fan base built up and it's working," says Juggy. "I'm happy, I'm still getting paid and I'm still getting booked for shows…I cater for the crowds I attract."

There's an undeniable spark in Juggy's voice when he speaks about his new album, you can just hear the excitement, as he says, "In my head I've got an album I'm really happy with." There's no doubt that this will be one of, if not the biggest bhangra albums this year, so stay tuned to Desi Hits! because you know we’ll be the first to give you the exclusive single!
