With all the hype surrounding 'Kambakkht Ishq' the music better live up to the crowd's expectations. The album is out and we've got the music review for you! The film will be released on July 3, but the music gives us a sneak peek on what the film has to offer.
'Kambakkht Ishq,' starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor, portrays the story of two individuals who are polar opposites. When forced to work together, the two continuously bump heads and the music is upbeat and strong just like its characters. The music is produced by the UK Bhangra artists RDB and Anu Malik. The soundtrack features the vocals of RDB themselves as well as Shaan, Shreya Ghosal and more. The album consists of a whooping 10 tracks, 4 being remixes.
'Om Mangalam'- Sung by RBD and Nindy Kaur, the track has a great beat and is definitely a song that will be played at parties across the world. The song is picturized on Akshay and Kareena in wedding attire. The remix to the song is a little faster, nothing has been added or taken away. The beat has been switched up just slightly. All in all, both tracks are fun and going to be enjoyed by many.
'Lakh Lakh'- Sung by Neeraj Shridar, the track begins with the sound of the dhol which progresses into a steady beat. The song is not one for the clubs, however there's a remix which infuses a techno beat. This track has become the latest teaser for the film, Akshay Kumar is seen chasing Kareena through town. Kareena is clearly not interested or amused.
'Kambakkht Ishq'- Unlike the track 'Lakh Lakh' this song has no Punjabi influences, it's a true Bollywood tune. This song is sung by Krishna Kumar Kunnath and Sunidhi Chauhan. Once again this track has a remixed version on the album done by Kilogram K&G. The remix has added English lyrics and has a party vibe to it. Not one of the best tracks on the album, but not a terrible one either.
'Kyun'- It has two versions, one sung by Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal and another sung soley by Shreya Ghosal. This track is the love ballad every Bollywood movie needs. Shreya Ghoshal's vocals are amazing! The track is easy to listen to and not boring. The music has its peaks as the chorus progresses adding an essential dynamic to the song. It's very sweet.
'Welcome to Hollywood'- Sung by Krash Kale and Anushka Manchanda, the song is not the highlight of the album and sounds like a transitional song for the film. It introduces the different aspects and sights of Hollywood many may know.
'Bebo'- Kareena Kapoor has been given theme music, being a model in this film, the song sounds glamorous. Alisha Chinai sings this song and some say that her voice suits Kareena quite well. The song is about Kareena's mannerism and is cute and fits her personality quite well. The club remix adds English lyrics and has a great techno, club sound to it. Whether it will be played in a club or not, we'll have to wait and see.
The soundtrack is quite a treat for all music and Bollywood fans out there. RDB have created a fun and dance worthy soundtrack. Let us know what you think about the album. Do you have a favorite track?
