What do Bollywood actors like Sushmita Sen, Randeep Hooda, Rati Agnihotri, Suresh Oberoi, Deepal Shaw have in common with super model Naomi Campbell and rapper Sticky Fingaz? Why the film "Karma Aur Holi" of course! The movie "Karma Aur Holi" is a film written and directed by New York based writer and director Manish Gupta and is scheduled for release by Saregama India Ltd in association with Rapture Productions Inc. in March 2009. Manish Gupta collaborated with co-producer and one of the actresses in the film Drena DeNiro, Robert DeNiro's daughter to make this Hollywood and Bollywood movie come to life.

The eclectic mix of actors was styled by Lysa Cooper who is responsible for the looks of women such as Madonna, Shakira, and Britney Spears. The contemporary film was shot in New York and New Jersey and deals with many problems of modern Desi Americans in a rather dramatic confession of personal sins. The migration and adaptation of these Indian immigrant families are portrayed in an indie film that promises to add "freshness and timelessness... to the film [that] deals with relationships of many dimensions, their conflicts and resolutions on the day of Holi signifying a new beginning."   It seems like there are high hopes that come with the release of the film which may or may not come through the way that Manish Gupta is planning.

We aren't sure how this list of actors will fare together in a film, but we're certain that Sushmita Sen will be happy that at least one of her movies is going to be released. The trailer for "Karma Aur Holi" doesn't make the film seem that interesting, rather like a low budget soap opera but we are willing to wait and see if it surprises its audiences.
