Oh my! What some Bollywood stars won’t do for a part in a new movie! We already told you about Rani Mukherji who shed those extra pounds for a fit comeback in "Dil Bole Hadippa" and Hrithik Roshan who gained weight and grew a beard for his role as a paraplegic in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s "Guzaarish."
Then there is Kareena Kapoor, who in an attempt to match Julia Roberts in the Bollywood remake of the 1998 Hollywood film "Stepmom," is currently hard at work going from her usual glamorous self to a more ordinary, gloomy look.
Well now it’s Lara Dutta’s turn to talk about everything she had to go through in order to play Mona in Anthony D'Souza’s new movie “Blue” with Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan.
"The moment I got to know of it, I called Akshay and told him that I wouldn't be able to accept the assignment. He knew the reason behind my decision. When I reminded Akshay I couldn't swim, he told me to forget my phobias and learn swimming pronto." Wow! What a challenge! Learning how to swim sounds much harder than gaining or losing a few pounds! Not to mention getting rid of some excessive makeup!
And Lara Dutta confirms that she has her part in "Blue" to thank for overcoming her fear of swimming.
"Today, I feel "Blue" has not merely made me overcome my phobias, but has also taught me something that would stay with me for the rest of my life." Good for you!
