What will Lil Wayne think of next? He has been playing the guitar for a while, but a rock album?! We think that's kind of weird for the American rapper, but fans should be aware that his new CD, "Rebirth" that's out on April 7, isn't a rap album. He's been telling sources since October that he would be taking a new direction with his music the next time he comes out with something new and he wasn't lying.
If you're curious, you should stay tuned right after his live streaming concert in San Diego on January 27th, because that is where his first single "Prom Queen" will debut. Those in Lil Wayne's crew made it clear to fans that this new album has nothing to do with his plans to re-release "Tha Carter III" or any of his other hip hop efforts. So what does this mean for Lil Wayne's fans or for his career? Maybe he'll go all rock and be successful, or maybe this is just a phase and he'll return to what he knows and is good at; hip hop. But we don't know any more than you do at this point. We will just have to wait and see what happens with Lil Wayne and see if there really is a transformation or rebirth taking place that will change him.
What do the fans think about this sudden change in the artist's sound? Do you think that Lil Wayne could be good at rock music and really change his style for the better? Or do you think this is just a passing thing that will bring him back to what he knows best? We've told you what we think and now we want to know what you think.
