'London Dreams' Are Seeing 'Blue'

A movie war might break out on India's Independence Day this summer if the  two big films of the summer-Vipul Shah's 'London Dreams' and Anthony D'Souza's 'Blue' don't figure out release dates. It's tough in entertainment when two big name movies come out in the same week.

There's a chance that people will be faced between choosing and that could spell danger for figuring out box office sales. If another blockbuster movie didn't come out the same day would sales have been higher? That's why producers Anthony D'Souza and Vipul Shah aren't backing down on their release dates.

Vipul Shah is adamant that he doesn't want 'Blue' to release on the same day as 'London Dreams'. Vipul Shah says "It wasn't just any two big films clashing. It was an Akshay (Kumar)...film. Akshay is not just a favorite actor, a close friend and business associate. His business interests are my concern. So we did request Raj Mehta to shift the date for their 'Blue'. Yes, they've agreed to release the film one week before 'London Dreams'-August 7."

But it seems that Anthony D'Souza has a different story, "As far as I know they ['London Dreams'] are releasing a week before us. We're releasing on Aug 13 [a Thursday] which is a public holiday. The added holiday gives us the longest-ever weekend for a film to release and grow... There's no way we're postponing 'Blue'. We want the long Independence Day weekend. Are we stupid to give it up because of competition? In any case 'London Dreams' and 'Blue' are very different films. I believe there's room for two big films when they don't clash in theme or star cast."

It'll be interesting to see in the end what happens, as of right now it looks like they'll come out the same day. What do our readers think? Do you think two big movies should come out together on the long holiday weekend? Would you rather see one movie over the other? Give us your thoughts on this summer movie clash.
