Her sound is unlike any other and her haunting lyrics speak volumes about this dynamic young Jamaican singer. No newcomer to the music industry, exotic Asian beauty Tessane Chin has been singing from ever since she can remember. She was a former back up singer for international reggae superstar ‘Sir Jimmy Cliff’ and was the lead singer for the rock reggae group ‘Mile High’.

With her solo album still in the works she’s teamed up alongside music producer Rudy Valentino and one of the best drummers in Jamaica Paul Kastick and as Chin rightfully remarks ‘our type of music cannot be put in a box, it is a mixture of Reggae, Dancehall, Rock and Soul. All these types of music have touched me the most through my journey in music, so ultimately when I wanted to make music that represented me.’ What draws your attention to Chin’s music though is her eclectic fusion of such a diverse range of genres creating a truly holistic sound.

And although she is not yet signed to a label her music can be accessed through her official website and her myspace page. Already she’s shot a video for her single ‘Hide Away’ which is quickly climbing up the reggae charts as well as the video throughout the Caribbean. One thing’s for sure though, once you take a listen to her music you’ll be wanting to hear more from this Jamaican songstress so let’s hope that album comes out soon!
