It's out now! London-based music maestros, M2K, were born and brought up in the capital. From a very young age, the siblings - Manoj, 24, and Kamini, 22 - were exposed to the traditional sounds of Hindi music and Bollywood film, leaving an unmistakable passion that has influenced them throughout their lives. Through their expertise and shared love for music, M2K joined forces with Rishi to work on their debut track 'Hohne Laga Hai Pyar.' The track featured on super producer Rishi's first solo album, 'Simply Rich,' that reached number one in the Asian pop charts in October 2002. "Smooth vocals provided by M2K on the track 'Hohne Laga Hai Pyar' and tight production will certainly give Bollywood a run for their money." In September 2005, M2K launched the single 'Phenomenon' featuring Don Dee. 'It broke chart records by remaining in Club Asia's Top 20 for four and a half months. It reached number one on Zee Music and was also voted one of the top 50 tracks of 2005. So the 8 song album 'Released,' came out this month and kicks of with club hit 'Phenomenon', which features Don Dee! We all know from past tracks that Don Dee adds the energy and the high spirit into the music (especially in 'Nahi Jeena' and 'Soniye remix'). Lot of … tropical (!?) instruments used to give it a beach-ish vibe. Very tuneful voice of both Manoj and Kamini with a fast beat pulse definitely did deserve a place in the top 20 charts. The album mainly comprises of the duet singing together, and can be argued to be the future of Bollywood music. Something that may not have been experimented my the British Asians so far. So, when I say Bollywood music, what do I mean? Those of you who do enjoy the Bollywood filmy music will realize that a whole new variety of instruments have been featured (along with the classic grand piano). The songs express many emotions and at the tempo the songs flow at, they are typical Indian movie song vibe (for those still trying to decipher the pace, it is slow to medium). BUT, tracks 'Sexi', 'Show Me Love' and 'Oh La La La' offer attractive lyrics to croon to while crashing with them boys during a night out or even dancing under the rain! The track 'Sexi' also have a hint of electronic effects with various effects implemented to product a decent club track. In a nut shell, it is definitely something new from the South Asian scene and attention grabbing. M2K has done a gem.
