Someone should inform Michael Jackson that the Courtroom and the Schoolroom do not have the same rules. You cannot simply hand in a sick note if you do not want to participate. But that was basically how the King of Pop responded to his most recent legal troubles. Arab sheikh Al Khalifa is suing the King of Pop for 7 million dollars, claiming that Jackson did not follow through on a contract. Looks like Michael should take up that offer from his brothers and tour with the Jackson Five. He might be in need of some extra cash.
Robert Englehart, Jackson's lawyer, insists that his client is too sick to fly to London at the moment. However, Jackson's camp is being suspiciously quiet about the mysterious illness. One person who is not buying any of Jackson's excuses is Khalifa's lawyer. He points out that this is not the first time that Jackson has tried to get himself out of court and calls the medical evidence 'unsatisfactory.' The judge in the case, Nigel Sweeney, will wait until Thursday before he makes a decision on Jackson's travels. This should give both legal parties ample time to talk with medical experts.
