Michael Jackson has been considered the "King of Pop" ever since the 1980s. Desi Hits! is proud to present to you flashbacks of his life from his rise to fame to the controversial trials he faced in 2005.

1976-1984: Michael Jackson started his career with his siblings when they formed together to create the Jackson 5. The hit song "I Want You Back" featured Michael Jackson as he started his talent of singing for the first time. From 1976 to 1984, "The Jacksons" as they were called after joining Epic Records became a hit sensation.

1979: In 1979, Michael Jackson released his first solo album "Off the Wall" which gave him the first steps to stardom. This album had four US chart busting tracks including "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "Rock with You". It sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

1982: After the success of his first album, Michael Jackson released his second album "Thriller" in 1982 which had big hits including "Beat It", "Billy Jean", and the chartbuster "Thriller". "Thriller" became the number one song of all time when the album sold about 110 copies worldwide. MTV showed viewers his music video for this smash hit and became noticed with his dance moves like the moonwalk. "Thriller" ranked number 20 on Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list in 2003, and was listed by the National Association of Recording Merchandisers at number three in their Definitive 200 Albums of All Time.

1987: After five years, Michael Jackson released his third album "Bad". Bad had lower sales than Thriller, but was still a substantial commercial success. The song "Smooth Criminal" was the only signature track that stood out mostly because of his dance moves. The album sold 30 million copies worldwide.

1991-2001: His next releases included "Dangerous", "HIStory" which consisted of Michael Jackson's greatest hits in his fifteen years as a pop artist, and his last release in 2001 called "Invincible".

2003-2005: Fans showed a lot of their support for Michael Jackson ever since he was accused of child molestation in 2003. Jackson denied the sexual abuse allegations, but following his upcoming trial, Jackson became dependent on morphine and Demerol, a dependency which he soon overcame. The trial lasted five months, until the end of May 2005. In June, Jackson was acquitted on all counts.

2006: Jackson was awarded the Diamond Award on November 15, 2006, for selling over 100 million albums at the World Music Awards where Chris Brown did a tribunal performance for Michael Jackson's hit "Thriller".

From July 8, 2009 to February 24, 2010, Jackson is scheduled to perform 50 sell out concerts to over one million people, at London's O2 arena. According to Jackson's website, tickets sales for the concerts broke several records.

So we ask you, our Desi Hits! audience if you think that Michael Jakson will live up to expectations despite what he did in the past? Are you excited about his comeback to the pop music scene? Give us your thoughts on his comeback tour.
