Inspired from Hugh Grant's 'Mickey Blue Eyes,' 'Welcome' provides with the right dose of laughter and mindless fun to put you in the right holiday spirit. Nana Patekar plays a Dubai based don who wants his sister, Katrina Kaif, married at any cost. He only has one criteria - the boy must belong to nice and decent family. Now being a don you really can't expect that to be an easy job, something Nana finds out soon enough! Cut to Akshay Kumar's entry who is Paresh Rawal's nephew. Paresh is himself on the look out for a girl but has one criteria: the girl must belong to picture perfect family with absolutely nothing to do with anything illegal. Now Paresh is so floored with the family that he is about to give his nod when he finds out about Nana and his activities. Petrified they leave town, obviously you don't do that with a don! In the mean time Akshay falls in love with Katrina but is completely unaware that she is Nana's sister. When Kat finally takes him home to meet Nana you can pretty much imagine what happens...

The film is good fun but doesn't tickle you as much as Bazmee's previous hit "No Entry" and Akshay too leaves you with just enough of his acting and not that extra bit that he normally brings to the script. Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor are the surprise hits of the film and definitely deserve maximum credit for carrying the film through. All in all worth the effort to the cinema!
