It was a star-studded event at the five-star JW Marriott hotel in Mumbai. Anil Kapoor was there along with fellow cast members of the hit movie, 'Slumdog Millionaire.' What could have possibly brought all these stars back together for one night? It was the music release for the 'Slumdog Millionaire' soundtrack! Everyone was there to celebrate the release of the soundtrack which is just as entertaining as the film it provides music for. But when a soundtrack consists of music composed by A.R. Rahman, would you expect anything less? The stars sat on stage proudly promoting the soundtrack. Anil Kapoor looked casual cool in jeans, a white t-shirt, and a blazer. The stars seem to be just as passionate about the music as they are about the film itself. The soundtrack is being touted as a great introduction to modern Indian and Bollywood music. The soundtrack features various artists, such as Suzanne D'Mello, Alka Yagnik, Ila Arun, Palakkad Sriram, Madhumitha, Sonu Nigam, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Alisha Chinai, Tanvi Shah, and Sukhwinder Singh. One of the best tracks on the album, O... Saya, features the Sri Lanka alternative music singer, M.I.A. A remix to M.I.A.'s 'Paper Planes' can also be found on the soundtrack. The director of the film, Danny Boyle, said that he wanted to create a soundtrack which features both traditional and modern Indian music. Danny Boyle is known for incorporating music in his films to capture the essence of each scene. A.R. Rahman does a wonderful job of taking you from the slums of Mumbai to its booming Metropolis with his exceptional songs. So it is no wonder that the cast gladly teamed up once again to celebrate the release of this extraordinary soundtrack.
