Pussycat Dolls Nicole Scherzinger Didn't Want To Remix 'Jai Ho' - DH! Exclusive

March 20 2009 02:55 PST

The sexy songstress, Nicole Scherzinger's English version of A.R. Rahman's "Jai Ho" is a track that has been quite successful. Well it just so happens that Nicole was apprehensive about remixing the Oscar winning song! Nicole Scherzinger told Desi Hits! "I was scared, I was afraid to let people hear it, to be honest I really didn't want to do it."

Nicole like many others felt as though the song was perfect and that it couldn't be remade. However, after giving it some thought Nicole Scherzinger felt she could create a English adaptation to the captivating track. Nicole Scherzinger valued the original song so much that she looked for some spiritual guidance to help her recreate the song. "I prayed every night to do this right," said the singer. Nicole put her heart into writing the lyrics and put in themes from the film, "Slumdog Millionaire". Love and destiny were elements from the movie that she put into the track.

We gave Nicole Scherzinger her first experience to Desi culture when we hooked her up with a hot saree to wear to New York's  Fashion Week kick-off, "Fashion Rocks" and it's great to see Nicole still embracing the Desi culture!

Tell us what you think about Nicole Scherzinger's hesitation to remix the song. Do you understand how she felt? Are you glad to hear how much the song meant to the singing sensation? Drop your comments below.

why cant the admin just ban johnny88 from the site for making rude, racist, and obnoxious comments? and let me tell you johnny its corrupt american bankers that cheat the public of their money (and i guess you too have lost money - therefore the anger) while harming the entire global economy. its a global village my friend, anyone can go anywhere and anytime they want. btw did u notice the american band Pussycat Dolls are singing an Indian track written by an Indian oscar winner chosen by white american jury... what do u hv to say abt that?

April 01, 2009 10:38 PST

she looks nice and its something different to what shes done in the past she did well and should do more different themes

March 31, 2009 20:45 PST

U know what, it would only be a jobless idiot like u to say such things. Why do u have to be so racist? If u don't like the Indians, why do u watch their movies? why do u visit their websites? If I were u, I would worry about holding on to my job during this recession. But then again, u might not have a job since u just go about making idiotic racist comments. Pls do somethign to support ur family and get ur butt off the couch. Or don't u have any family? Have they left u because of ur bad attitude? I would understand if they did u bloody asshole. Have a lovely day.

Nicole not only should have been reluctant; she should not have distorted the meaning of the song. It went from a celebration of personal victory over obstacles to just another lusty song about sex. Why? And why did AR Rahman go along with this? It completely changed the meaning of the song.
