Is the possible future president of the US becoming Hindu? Okay, so not really, but after Barack Obama left Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report, decided he would choose a new church for Obama. First up?... Hinduism, as Colbert discussed the religion with Hindu Temple Society of North America President, Uma Mysorekar. But in true Colbert fashion he poked fun at the Hindu religion... But we want to know what you think. Did Colbert cross a line, or was he just doing what he does best? And what about Uma Mysorekar? Did she do a good job of defending the religion? Check out the video below and drop us a comment with your thoughts.

Funny how if media talks about Hinduism-like in Love Guru- it's found to be funny. When media talks about Islam, protests begin. When media talks about Christianity- it's a total NO NO. And Sikhism- it's all a joke to the media. I suppose they should be glad that Hindus/Sikhs are just more peaceful and don't take offense to such silliness.

I think she is great! when I saw her walk on I thought OH NO she is going to be ripped apart!! but she held her own and she was good. I wish they got people on like Ghetto Guru! its kind of like you are on the back foot if he is going to make fun of us and you don't have someone who is funny representing us....

I did not perceive it as offensive in the religious regard, BUT in the human and social regard. He was always interrupting Uma Mysorekar. Please practise the manner of letting one finish to speak before starting to talk. The whole thing was very simple structured though. The jokes were lame and the last question to the lady were even lamer. But offensive? No.

point is that he would never say that about christianity and if he did he'd probably hear an earfull. i am hindu and i didn't take offense to this because it's obvious he's just trying to get a rise out of people. let's see if he actually does another segment on another religion.

I thought it was derogatory and he should not be saying things like that without even understanding the religion or culture. How dare he?
