Patrick Swayze made his mark in Hollywood with the 1983 movie "The Outsiders," but truly shot to international fame with his role as Johnny Castle in the 1987 box office smash "Dirty Dancing." He passed away last night at the age of 57 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2008.
The 80s heartthrob is more known for movies like "Ghost," "Point Break" and "Waking up in Reno," but Patrick Swayze actually broke out of his hunk character with a movie shot in India in 1992.
In "City of Joy," Swayze plays a disenchanted Texan doctor who comes to Calcutta in search of spirituality after one of his patients died. He makes friends with the locals and ends up finding joy in life.
R.I.P Patrick Swayze.
