“I’m proud to be who I am. I can only be real and be me.” Those words came straight from the mouth of UK rapper AG Dolla. When you listen to the conscious rapper’s relatable lyrics and witty flows, there’s no denying he’s one mad talented artist. He’s had great success with his ‘My Life and Rhymes’ mix-tape and now he’s all set to release a brand new EP titled ‘Mr. Shah’! With this EP he decided to do more of a mixture of tracks to show the extremes of one person stemming from AG Dolla’s very own personal experiences.

“I’m putting this [EP] out to let people know I’m still here… I’m doing it for the love of music,” said Dolla. And get this, the 5 track EP will be given away as a free download on agdolla.com in early March! Why offer it for free? Well AG says he wants to let people get exposed to his sound and for the love of the music. “F*@$ the industry, my inspiration is the people. I want the people to get me, says Dolla. It features production from Mentor, new producer Ruptured, J-Zak and AG himself and will also feature a collabo with RnB crooner Ash King. It’s being released on Soundproof Entertainment just as his mix-tape was.

You can expect this EP to be a bit more soulful touching on personal experiences and troubles. AG says he’s come face to face with the harsh realities of life and has basically been on his own, raising himself since the age of 14. Also lending to this EP was Dolla’s journey with ‘My Life and Rhymes’ which was able to give him a real insight to the industry. “I’ve come out of it ten times stronger. Even though it’s hard I’ve learnt,” says Dolla. “Music is my drug.”

Just to give a idea of the scope of AG, he also plans to release a clothing line and later this year he’ll be performing with London’s Royal College of Music 16 piece orchestra. He also does community work with Unicef and will be heading to the Caribbean to head up a project there. But AG says he doesn’t let that effect his music… “my music is my music and those two things are separate.”

So what about an actual album? Well let’s just say you aren’t ready for the explosion that’s about to hit your ears. With everything that’s going down around AG, including being personally effected by the crisis in Kenya, this EP and his future album are sure to be real reflections of AG not only as an artist but as a person as well.
