U.S. President Barack Obama wishes you a happy Diwali! In a video message recorded at the White House and posted on its Web site, President Obama expresses his "warmest wishes for Diwali to all who celebrate this auspicious holiday here in America and around the world."
In the two minute long message, Obama starts by explaining what the festival of lights means to those who celebrate it, whether they are Hindus, Jains or Sikhs. Obama, known for commemorating holidays from all religions, seizes the occasion to talk about those who are "less fortunate," who "do not enjoy the same rights to speak or worship freely." He says that "our hearts are with them."
The president also expresses hope that "at this sacred time of year," people from all religions and cultures can join together to "make a habit of empathy and reach out to those most in need."
Obama ends by saying that "Michelle and I wish you a happy Diwali."
So happy Diwali to all who are celebrating the festival of lights this weekend! Check out the president's video message and let us know what you think!

I LOVE OBAMA
Recognizing other religions and sending greetings on their festivals is a great gesture. Thus you are making United World of America. I wish you should strive hard to eradicate poverty from this human planet.
