In case you don't know anything about him, Code Red is a big name in North America amongst producers. The Canada based producer has worked with an array of artists, such as David Banner, Elephant Man, Memphis Bleek, Amerie, Bossalyni, Kurrupt, Sugar Jones, Rouge, Iceburg, and Surinder Shinda to name a few. He has worked in the genres of hip hop, R&B, and of course bhangra music, and blends them all to create his sound.
In the past, he worked in a duo called Sound Ministry with his then partner Kal-M. They were together until about 2004, which is when Code Red broke off and began his solo career. He did pretty well on his own, especially when his album 'Believe the Hype' came in on the eleventh slot on BBC Asian Charts and broke the top ten in two weeks. The album was in heavy rotation at the time on Radio1 Extra-a leading UK Urban Radio station.
Well, it's hard to believe that it's been almost two years since 'Believe the Hype' was released. We will let you know more as exclusives come through, but we do know that Code Red's new album will be out soon. This release, titled 'The Code of the Streets,' has been a project Code Red has been hard at work on. It will reportedly be released in the summer through Suga Kane Records. The hot new release from Code Red features vocal stylings from the likes of Ashok Gill, Binder Bajwa, Lehmber and Labh Janjua. The song 'Kuriyan Toh Back Ke' which features Labh Janjua is supposedly seeing great feedback, so hopefully this latest offering from Code Red will prove to be a hit.
We want to hear from our readers on Code Red. Is he a producer that you're excited to hear something new from? Drop us your thoughts below.
