BET announced yesterday, that 'Rap City', one of their longest running series, will be cancelled as of October 29th. Created in 1989, 'Rap City' gave viewers an indepth look at the world of hip hop (from the mainstream to the underground). Over their 19 year slot the show was hosted by people from, 'The Mayor of Rap City' Chris Thomas, to, Joe Craig and Leslie Sager (AKA Big Lez). 1999 saw the introduction of the show's most recent host, Big Tigger, as well as the creation of the freestyle booth; which gave way to some of hip hop's most memorable 'off the cuff' lyrics.

On November 10th, the show will be replaced by 'The Deal', an hour long video series, hosted by DJ Diamond Kutz.
