Things are looking up for U.K. Bhangra band Rhythm Dhol Bass! Kuly, Manj and Surj have been nominated for Best U.K. Asian Act and Best Band at the 7th annual Urban Music Awards to be held on November 1!

Fusing Bhangra and Garage music on the scene for more than a decade, RDB has performed alongside the biggest names in Bollywood like Akshay Kumar, Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan, as well as some of the best from the west like Snoop Dogg and Public Enemy.

But competition promises to be rude! The other contenders to the Best U.K. Asian Act title are Jay Sean, M.I.A, Khiza and Talvin Singh. We can’t wait to see how RDB will fare against these big names in the industry.

But for RDB winning isn’t what matters, they consider it an honor just to be nominated.

"We are thrilled at the news; it’s an honor that our work is getting recognized and we are pushing Asian music in the right way. It’s brilliant that the UMA’s have a category for British Asian Music," said Surj.
